Scott F. Gibson is a proud husband, father, grandfather, and partner in the Mesa, Arizona law firm of Denton Peterson Dunn, PLC. His practice focuses on fair competition law, which lies at the intersection of intellectual property law and employment law. Since 2008, Scott has been an adjunct professor of law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University teaching a course on Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants.
Scott is the author of Chapter 10, “Non-Competition and Non-Solicitation and Other Restrictive Covenants” in Employment Contracts and Agreements: A Guide for Corporate Counsel (Claire E. Parsons, ed., LexisNexis 2024). He is a frequent speaker and author on fair competition topics, including how to use trade secrets and restrictive covenants to protect intangible assets.
In addition to his JD degree from Arizona State University, Scott holds LLM degrees from Arizona State University (Biotechnology and Genomics) and from Baylor University (Litigation Management). He has an AV rating from Martindale Hubbel, a Superb rating from AVVO, and is recognized in the Best Lawyers in America (28th – 31st editions).
