This program provides a comprehensive framework for integrating Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) into criminal defense mitigation. Participants will explore how BPD affects behavior, emotional regulation, decision-making, and culpability.
The course examines how BPD can be identified, evaluated, and incorporated into mitigation strategies at both pre-plea and sentencing stages. It also addresses challenges in representing clients with BPD and how to translate clinical findings into persuasive advocacy.
Attorneys will gain practical tools to use BPD as a mitigating factor and enhance their overall defense strategy.
