Protect clients and yourself by knowing some of the more common ethical issues that can affect your practice. Ethical issues present themselves in all aspects of an attorney’s professional life, including client relationship, conflicts, communications, confidentiality, advertising, appropriate conduct before a tribunal, and other duties. Compliance with the rules provide at least a base for ethical representation of a client. Compliance with the rules will also protect the practitioner from encounters with the Bar or malpractice, and the loss of time associated with those items of issues. This course will provide an overview of typical ethical issues affecting the various areas of the practice of law and how to address and resolve those issues.
